Key Qualifications:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) required
- Experience working as a sign language interpreter or paraprofessional in a school environment preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage middle school students
- Ability to collaborate with teachers and team members
- Adaptability and commitment to fostering a positive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school communications between students, teachers, and staff
- Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students with hearing impairments
- Support students’ academic and social development by advocating for their communication needs
- Assist classroom teachers in managing instructional materials and adapting lessons as needed
- Participate in team meetings and contribute insights for student support plans
