Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Credentials or certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (state or national level)
- Familiarity with educational settings, preferably serving students in elementary and/or high school
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic caseload and interpret for multiple students in various classroom and school activities
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Comfortable working onsite; virtual options may be considered for highly qualified candidates
Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time sign language interpreting for students in general education classrooms and school-related settings
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to ensure seamless communication
- Maintain accurate records of interpreting services provided
- Support students’ participation in all aspects of their educational experience
- Flexibly manage a caseload, typically working with 1-2 students at a time
- Serve at multiple school locations throughout the day as needed
Role Details:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours weekly during the school year
- Position dates: August 31, 2026 – June 3, 2027
- Two openings available
- Onsite required; virtual considered for exceptional candidates
