Key Qualifications:
- Hold a current Sign Language Interpreter license in the state of North Carolina
- Demonstrated experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Strong collaborative skills with educators, students, and parents
- Ability to adapt to diverse communication needs
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and clear interpretation for students during classroom lessons, meetings, and school-related activities
- Assist teachers and staff in understanding the needs of deaf or hard-of-hearing students
- Support students’ academic and social participation through effective communication facilitation
- Maintain detailed records of services provided and student progress, in line with school policies
- Adapt interpretation style to suit individual student needs and varying learning situations
You’ll benefit from a consistent weekday schedule, working 37.5 hours each week from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027. With a dedicated caseload, you can focus on building rapport and making a difference each day.
