Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Seymour, WI
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity utilizing your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter in an educational setting. This onsite position offers the chance to work full-time (37.5 hours per week) for the duration of the school year, specifically from August 31, 2026, to June 3, 2027. Serve students by providing essential communication access and fostering an inclusive learning environment at both elementary and high school campuses.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Wisconsin Educator Certification is required
- Preference for candidates with EIPA score of at least 3.3 and completion of the EIPA Written Test
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and the ability to accurately interpret classroom discussions, lectures, and student interactions
- Strong organizational skills for working at multiple school sites throughout the day
Role Highlights:
- Deliver interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, enabling full participation in classroom and school activities
- Potential caseload includes working with one to two students at a time, with assignments across two schools (elementary and high school)
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, peers, and staff in a variety of academic and social settings
- Collaborate with special education teams to support individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain professional ethics and confidentiality at all times
