Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher strongly preferred
- Experience supporting students in school-based environments, especially in 1:1, pediatric, or K-12 settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and the ability to accurately interpret spoken and signed communication
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with educators, staff, and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, real-time sign language interpretation for students in classroom settings, assemblies, field trips, and extracurricular activities
- Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and classmates to ensure equity in educational access
- Modify interpreting style to match individual student needs and age-appropriate language
- Support teacher-led instruction by clarifying spoken and written material as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and follow professional ethical standards at all times
