Key Qualifications:
- Current state licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- EIPA score of 3.5 or above, or possession of RID certification
- Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English
- Prior experience in educational settings is highly preferred
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and faculty
- Dependable and punctual, with readiness to arrive before the student’s school day begins
- Must be available for full on-site coverage; remote interpreting is not permitted
Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction and school activities for a designated student
- Ensure clear and accurate communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Collaborate regularly with classroom staff and special education teams
- Maintain professional, ethical, and confidential standards at all times
- Support student participation and engagement across academic and extra-curricular opportunities
- Keep records of interpreting activities as required
This contract position runs from August 3, 2026 to May 28, 2027, Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 2:30pm, for a total of 35 hours weekly.
