Soliant is seeking a qualified Virtual Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide interpretation services for a school district. This remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced educational interpreter who is passionate about supporting Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students and ensuring equitable access to classroom instruction.
Position Details
✅ Full-time Virtual Sign Language Interpreter position
✅ School-based assignment
✅ Remote/virtual interpreting opportunity
✅ EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required
✅ Competitive compensation: $35–$40/hour
✅ 1099 Independent Contractor opportunity
✅ K–12 student caseload based on district needs
✅ 2026–2027 school year contract with potential renewal
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality virtual interpreting services for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students
- Facilitate communication access between students, teachers, staff, and peers
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, announcements, and school activities
- Collaborate with educators and support teams to ensure student communication needs are met
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical interpreting standards
- Support an inclusive learning environment through effective communication access
Qualifications
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required
- Educational interpreting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting practices
- Experience supporting students in a K–12 educational setting preferred
- Ability to provide clear and effective interpretation through a virtual platform
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
