An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within an educational setting. This 1099 contract position is located in Silver Spring, MD, supporting communication access for students through remote platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and educators during telehealth sessions.
- Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa, ensuring clear and accurate translations.
- Collaborate with school staff to accommodate communication needs virtually.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of interpretation.
- Manage scheduling and coordination for telehealth assignments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting skills.
- Experience in telehealth interpreting preferred.
- Familiarity with educational environments and terminology is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently under a 1099 contract arrangement.
