Now Hiring: Remote Sign Language Interpreter (STI) Illinois
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Remote Sign Language Interpreter (STI) to provide virtual interpreting services for K–12 educational settings across Illinois. This position supports students, educators, and families by ensuring clear and effective communication in remote learning and meeting environments.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors' Level Degree in ASL or Education Interpreting
EIPA Score: 3.5–4.5 (or higher)
RID Certification preferred.
NIC Certification preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of professional experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings.
Experience interpreting for K–12 students, teachers, and school staff in public schools and/or Schools for the Deaf in Illinois.
Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL).
Experience providing remote interpreting services for:
Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
Remote experience
Responsibilities
Provide accurate and professional remote interpretation for students, teachers, parents, and school personnel.
Support communication during classroom instruction, IEP meetings, medical appointments, and other virtual sessions.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreting standards and ethics.
Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and strong communication skills in a remote work environment.
Compensation & Schedule
Pay: $32–$38 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Location: 100% Remote (serving schools within Illinois).
Flexible scheduling based on school assignments and client needs.
