- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational or school settings

- Comfortable collaborating with both teachers and school staff to facilitate student learning
- Professional demeanor and adaptability to meet diverse student needs across K-12
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Providing real-time ASL interpretation for students, teachers, and school staff during classes, meetings, and school events
- Assisting in academic and extracurricular settings to ensure students fully participate in all aspects of school life
- Preparing for lessons and adapting interpretive services to the grade level and subject matter
- Offering language and cultural mediation to bridge gaps between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and the school community
- Working closely with teachers to adapt instructional materials and communication for full student engagement
- Maintaining accurate records and adhering to school policies regarding student privacy and professional conduct
