Key Qualifications:
- Skilled in American Sign Language interpretation within a school environment
- RID Certification or EIPA score of 4.0 or higher is highly preferred
- Previous experience with student interpreting in educational contexts is a plus
- Able to commit to full-time, on-site services for the duration of the school year
- Professional, adaptable, and eager to collaborate within a supportive team
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate, clear interpretation between students, teachers, and peers in classrooms and school settings
- Ensure effective communication for students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, supporting their participation and success
- Adjust interpreting style to best fit student age, ability, and classroom situation
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality and ethical interpreting practices
- Participate in meetings or training sessions as needed to support student progress
