Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and strong interpreting skills
- RID Certification preferred; EIPA 4.0 or higher is also highly desirable
- Experience supporting children or adolescents in classroom settings is a plus
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote student participation
- Professionalism, reliability, and a compassionate approach
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site sign language interpreting for students during classroom instruction and school activities
- Foster a supportive learning environment by facilitating clear communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Adapt interpreting style based on each student's needs and learning goals
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards for educational interpreting
- Participate in team collaboration and contribute to the student’s success plan
