Qualifications:
- Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf or an EIPA score of 4.0+ (ESS-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessments accepted)
- Candidates with an EIPA under 4.0 are welcome as ASL Paras
- Experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to facilitate both sign to voice and voice to sign interpretation
Responsibilities:
- Support communication and learning among deaf/hard of hearing students, their classmates, classroom teachers, and educational staff
- Provide ASL interpreting for academic subjects and vocational or daily living skills
- Assist students individually or in groups in elementary and intermediate school settings
- Supervise and engage with students during various school activities
