Key Qualifications:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter credentials
- Minimum 3.0 EIPA score
- Experience in educational settings, particularly working with DHH students, is highly valued
- Knowledge of elementary-aged children’s learning needs
- Ability to foster an inclusive, accessible environment
- Up-to-date fingerprinting for school district requirements (status transferable via AHCA Clearinghouse if previously completed in FL)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one and group sign language interpretation for DHH students at the elementary school level
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure seamless access to instruction
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional standards
- Adapt interpretation techniques to suit individual student needs and various classroom activities
- Support classroom participation, peer interaction, and overall student success
- Complete all necessary documentation and communication as required by school personnel
