Key Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Educational Interpreter/GaPSC Certification is required.
- Hold an RID certification or an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher.
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in schools is preferred.
- Able to commit to a full-time, on-site schedule, Monday through Friday (37.5 hours per week).
- Experience supporting high school students or working in a one-on-one educational setting is valuable.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and professional reliability are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and accurate American Sign Language interpretation to ensure the student’s full participation in all classroom activities.
- Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, peers, and school personnel throughout the academic day.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to maintain an accommodating and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school and professional standards at all times.
- Monitor and adjust interpreting methods as needed to match the student’s academic needs.
