We are seeking four skilled sign language interpreters for full-time, onsite contract assignments supporting K-12 students in a dynamic educational environment. Assignments will be based in the Rosenburg and Douglas, OR areas.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon state Sign Language Interpreter certification or licensure is required
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant methods of communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
- Previous experience working with school-aged children (K–12) is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to professionalism and confidentiality within the school setting
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and families
Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation and transliteration services between students, staff, and families
- Support student understanding and participation in classroom activities, assemblies, and school functions
- Adapt signing methods to individual student needs and educational goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by the school or district
- Participate in planning sessions, IEP meetings, and feedback as needed
