What You'll Bring:
- Certified Interpreter for the Deaf status
- Credentials such as Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or Texas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing: BEI I/II (past system) or Basic (current system)
- Strong proficiency in sign language interpretation within educational environments
- Commitment to professional standards of confidentiality, accuracy, and student support
- Ability to complete mandatory district fingerprinting and background check as part of credentialing
- Flexibility to collaborate and adapt to evolving student needs
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and effective sign language interpretation for students and faculty in a PK-8 school environment
- Support students' communication access during classroom instruction, school activities, and one-on-one educational interactions
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure appropriate services for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students
- Monitor and adapt to students' needs throughout the school year
- Maintain clear documentation related to services provided
