Qualifications:
- Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or Texas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing: BEI I or II (previous certification system) or Basic (current system)
- Ability to complete fingerprinting and background screening per district policy
- Flexibility to fulfill a likely 37.5-hour workweek (hours TBD with district coordinator)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and accurate interpretation/transliteration between spoken English and American Sign Language for students, faculty, and staff
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure inclusive communication access
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and advocacy for student needs
- Contribute to an engaging and supportive classroom environment across Pre-K to 8th grade
