Qualifications:
- Current BEI Sign Language Interpreter License is required
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings is highly valued
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Adaptable and ready to adjust to various classroom and student needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct interpreting services for students, facilitating effective communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Support students during classroom instruction, extracurricular activities, assemblies, and school events as needed
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional standards within all interpreting situations
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure student needs are met
- Adjust interpreting strategies to fit specific situations and learning styles, ensuring full participation and inclusion
