Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (ASL proficiency required)
- Experience working in an educational or school-based setting preferred
- Understanding of assistive communication devices such as Cochlear implants, hearing aids, and ALD systems
- Comfortable facilitating communication for students with behavioral challenges
- Adaptable, collaborative, and responsive to dynamic classroom environments
- Ability to provide documentation: resume, supervisor reference, proof of licensure
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver sign language interpretation services during instructional times for a high school student
- Partner with another language facilitator in a job share capacity (working Fridays)
- Participate as a substitute for other days if the regular facilitator is absent
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and empowering classroom atmosphere
- Adapt interpretation style to the unique needs and preferences of the student
