Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Georgia Department of Education Sign Language Interpreter License (GA DOE SLI License required—no HR waivers will be signed)
- Demonstrated experience interpreting in educational or school settings is highly preferred
- Solid command of American Sign Language (ASL) and proficient in English communication
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and school staff
- Capable of adapting to different classroom environments and working collaboratively in a team
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and effective 1:1 sign language interpretation for assigned students during classroom instruction, activities, and school events
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards as defined by the educational environment
- Serve as a communication bridge between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their teachers, peers, and staff
- Track and report on student progress as it relates to communication access and participation
- Flex between part-time assignment at Alliance Academy and floating support as required by the district
