Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter within school or educational environments
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- 4.0 EIPA or National Interpreter Certification (NIC), or willingness to obtain Kentucky interpreter license with guidance
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere
- Commitment to professionalism and ethical interpreting practices
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation for students, faculty, and school events
- Collaborate with teachers to enhance classroom accessibility
- Assist in the creation and adaptation of instructional materials
- Support students’ academic and social development through clear communication
- Participate in meetings, parent conferences, and school activities as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation as required
