Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Nancy, Kentucky

Whether you're NIC-certified or hold a 4.0 EIPA, if you’re open to obtaining a Kentucky license, your skills will be highly valued. Out-of-state interpreters will receive dedicated guidance throughout the transition and credentialing process.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- EIPA certification with a score of 4.0 or higher, OR NIC-certified status
- Willingness to obtain Kentucky interpreter licensure (support provided)
- Proven experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and other school staff
- Adaptable communication style for working with students from diverse backgrounds
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear, accurate ASL interpretation for students and staff during classes and school activities
- Facilitate two-way communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers or instructors
- Assist teachers in creating and adapting classroom materials for accessibility
- Support student participation and engagement in all educational programs and events
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
