Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Compliance with state and/or national interpreter certifications (e.g., EIPA, RID)
  • Previous experience interpreting in educational settings is preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction and activities for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff
  • Support student participation in various school events and extracurriculars
  • Collaborate with educational teams to support student IEPs as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided
