This opportunity is based near Federal Way, WA, a vibrant area surrounded by scenic beauty and just a short drive from both Seattle’s urban excitement and the serene Puget Sound. You'll work within a dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) program at the middle school level, gaining invaluable experience with a well-structured support system. Collaborate with a team focused on student success, adapt to varied educational environments, and develop your skillset as you provide communication access in DHH and general education classrooms, as well as small group and one-to-one settings.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and Sign Language Interpreting
- Minimum 3.5 EIPA score preferred
- Experience working with middle school students or within educational settings is a plus
- Ability to manage both group and individual interpreting assignments
Key Responsibilities
- Provide interpreting services in DHH and general education classrooms
- Support small group and individualized instruction for students in the DHH program
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate effective communication and student inclusion
- Maintain professional standards and confidentiality at all times
