Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Sign Language Interpreter certification or license in the state of North Carolina
- Prior experience interpreting in K-12 school settings preferred
- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL); strong receptive and expressive interpreting skills
- Ability to effectively facilitate communication between students, staff, and families
- Professional, reliable, and adaptable in a dynamic school environment
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical interpreting standards
- Must be available for onsite work only (no remote options)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpreting services for a caseload of 1:1 student(s) throughout the school day
- Collaborate with educators to support classroom learning and participation
- Ensure full access to educational content and school activities for assigned student(s)
- Participate in staff meetings, IEP meetings, and training sessions as needed
- Support positive student engagement and inclusion in both academic and extracurricular settings
