Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and ability to interpret classroom content
- Valid Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) or comparable certification, with a minimum score of 4.0
- Previous experience interpreting in educational or school-based settings preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, educators, and support staff
- Flexibility to accommodate varying assignments and classroom dynamics
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person interpretation between students, staff, and teachers during classroom lessons, meetings, and school activities
- Support student learning by accurately translating spoken language into sign language and vice versa
- Collaborate with general and special education teams to facilitate individualized education plans
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and classroom discussions
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment for all students
Additional Details:
- Both part-time and full-time positions are available
- Assignments offer schedules ranging from 6.25 to 7.25 hours per day, depending on site placement
- Opportunities exist in both Roseville and Auburn, providing flexibility
