Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Fort Benning, Georgia
Bring your expertise in American Sign Language to the classroom and make a meaningful impact for students this school year. Two dedicated Sign Language Interpreters are needed for a full-time, onsite contract role spanning the entire academic year. The assignment starts August 3rd, 2026 and runs through May 21st, 2027, with possible opportunities for some additional planning days. Full-time hours are at least 37.5 per week, but part-time arrangements may be considered depending on availability and scheduling needs.
You will work closely with the district’s team to determine your ideal age group placement, based on both your experience and preferences. This dynamic environment is ideal for professional interpreters who value collaboration and want to help students thrive. Daily documentation of your services will be required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Educator Certificate for Sign Language Interpreters (SLI)
- EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or above
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience interpreting in educational settings strongly preferred
- Ability to accurately maintain daily service logs
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
