Key Qualifications:
- Possess a current EIPA score of 3.0 or higher
- Experience providing sign language interpretation in educational settings
- Familiarity with supporting elementary-aged students, both one-on-one and in group situations
- Ability to adapt communication styles to student needs
- Professional demeanor, reliability, and excellent interpersonal skills
Essential Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear communication between DHH students, classroom teachers, and peers
- Interpret classroom lessons, group activities, and individual support sessions
- Accurately translate spoken language and curriculum into accessible sign language
- Collaborate with educational staff to implement individualized support strategies
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with school policies
- Complete any required time-sensitive credentialing, including fingerprint clearance and badge application
