Qualifications and Skills Desired:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SC SLI required)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience in a K-12 educational setting strongly preferred
- Ability to translate spoken English into ASL and vice versa in real-time
- Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability
- Commitment to working onsite throughout the contract’s duration
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction and communication between students, teachers, and staff
- Ensure that all assigned students have equal access to curriculum and related activities
- Participate in team meetings and IEP conferences as needed
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of interpreting assignments
- Provide support in extracurricular or school-sponsored events as required
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere while advocating for students’ needs
Position Details:
- Contract duration: August 5th, 2026 – June 4th, 2027
- Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- All work is to be completed onsite at the designated school(s)
