Desired Qualifications:
- Certification from the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, or a score of 4.0 or higher on the EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment
- Candidates with EIPA scores under 4.0 are welcome and will contribute as ASL Paras
- Experience providing sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation in educational settings
- Ability to support students academically in reading, writing, and math
- Comfortable collaborating with teachers, school staff, and students’ peers
- Skilled at fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Flexibility to work onsite six hours per day, approximately 30 hours per week
- Preference for working with elementary or intermediate grades can be accommodated
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate real-time communication between hard of hearing/deaf students and their peers, teachers, and staff
- Interpret classroom instruction and school activities
- Provide academic and life skills support both in and out of the classroom
- Monitor and assist students during classroom, outdoor, or community-based activities
- Contribute to an inclusive and collaborative school culture
