This full-time, onsite contract opportunity allows you to facilitate communication and learning from elementary through intermediate levels, collaborating closely with teachers and school personnel.

Qualifications & Desired Experience

  • Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf or an EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
  • Alternatively, ESSE-I/R or NAD/ACCI assessment accepted
  • Candidates with EIPA scores under 4.0 are encouraged to apply; will be considered as ASL Para
  • Proficiency in both sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpreting
  • Experience working with children in educational settings preferred
  • Ability to assist students with academic subjects and daily living or vocational skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide interpreting services to facilitate communication among deaf or hard of hearing students, their peers, teachers, and other school staff
  • Interpret in both sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign modes as needed
  • Support students’ understanding and participation in classroom activities
  • Work with academic content such as reading, writing, and math
  • Monitor and assist students during classroom, outdoor, or community activities
  • Adjust support strategies to individual student needs, offering assistance in both academic and daily living skills
  • Serve as a collaborative member of the educational team across elementary and intermediate school settings
