Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter, with a minimum score of 3.5 EIPA
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with K-12 educational environments
- Professionalism and flexibility for work across varied grade levels and school sites
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Ability to support diverse learning needs and promote accessibility in the classroom
Position Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and extracurricular activities for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Adapt interpreting methods as needed for individual student needs and educational settings
- Collaborate with educators to ensure accessibility during assessments and school events
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical interpreting standards throughout placement
