Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and thorough understanding of educational interpreting practices
- Previous experience providing sign language interpretation in school settings preferred

- Flexibility, patience, and adaptability to student needs and classroom dynamics
- Knowledge of IEP processes and supporting diverse learning environments is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities for two students, each receiving 5.5 hours of support per school day
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure meaningful participation for students in both academic and social contexts
- Accurately and impartially convey spoken information into sign language and interpret students’ signed responses for educators
- Provide language and communication access during assemblies, special events, and small group settings as needed
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in accordance with program guidelines
- Uphold the ethical standards of educational interpreting at all times
