Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings.
- Proficiency in sign language interpretation, with a focus on facilitating classroom engagement.
- Active, valid licensure as a sign language interpreter.
- Ability to collaborate with educators and adapt to various learning styles.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster a supportive, inclusive environment.
- Experience working with technology such as ALD (Assistive Listening Devices) is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into sign language during classroom instruction, activities, and school events for a 9th-grade student.
- Assist the student in accessing curriculum, instructions, and extracurricular activities—especially during rehearsals and performances for school plays.
- Work closely with teaching staff, ensuring the student's academic progress and social integration are supported.
- Accommodate use of assistive devices, promoting communication independence.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times.
