Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Lincoln, Nebraska

What You’ll Bring:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language with experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
- Valid Nebraska interpreter license, or a provisional license if EIPA is below 4.0
- Ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers, special educators, and other related professionals
- Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Dedication to confidentiality and upholding students’ rights
What You’ll Do:
- Interpret classroom instruction and school activities for elementary students who are Deaf or hard of hearing
- Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Support students’ understanding, participation, and engagement in daily lessons and social situations
- Maintain appropriate records and work in compliance with school policies and special education guidelines
- Collaborate on educational plans and adapt interpreting techniques to student needs
Role Details:
- Contract position for the 2026–2027 school year
- Work onsite at a welcoming elementary school location
- Schedule options: full day (7:45am–3:15pm) or afternoons only (11:00am–3:15pm)
- Opportunity to use or gain experience under a provisional licensure
