Key Qualifications:
- Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf or an EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI score of 4.0 or higher
- Candidates with EIPA scores under 4.0 welcome (will serve as ASL Paraeducators)
- Proficient in both sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpreting
- Experience supporting students in elementary and intermediate school preferred
- Comfortable assisting in academic subjects and vocational/life skills
- Collaborative approach to supporting students, teachers, and school personnel
Role Responsibilities:
- Enable communication between deaf/hard of hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff
- Interpret spoken and signed messages accurately and confidentially
- Support students across academic and adaptive subjects such as reading, writing, math, and independent living
- Monitor and encourage participation during classroom and community-based activities
- Adapt interpreting strategies to effectively support learning and engagement in various educational settings

- Work approximately 30 hours per week (6 hours per day), full-time during school hours
