Key Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a Sign Language Interpreter within school settings, including work with pediatric and adolescent populations.
- Comfortable facilitating communication in diverse school environments—elementary, middle, and high school.
- Proficient in interpreting spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa.
- Strong preference for candidates with an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher.
- Ability to provide clear, accurate interpretation for both academic and social interactions.
- Committed to supporting individual students in a 1:1 capacity as well as broader group activities.
Core Responsibilities:
- Facilitate inclusive learning by interpreting classroom instruction, assemblies, and school events.
- Ensure DHH students comprehend information presented in academic and social settings.
- Collaborate with educators, special education teams, and families to support student progress.
