Step into a rewarding opportunity providing dedicated sign language interpreting services for elementary students. This full-time contract position supports Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students at a single elementary school site. You’ll collaborate with educators and serve as an essential communication bridge, empowering students and helping them thrive during the school year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3.0 EIPA score or higher is required
  • Valid and current credentials for interpreting in educational settings
  • Experience supporting DHH students in a school environment strongly preferred
  • Ability to work 1:1 and in small group settings
  • Successful completion of background check and fingerprinting through AHCA Clearinghouse (prior prints may be valid)
  • Committed to working on-site; remote or virtual services are not an option

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate clear communication between DHH students and staff using American Sign Language and voice interpreting
  • Provide interpreting services in classroom and group settings as well as one-on-one support
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards at all times
  • Collaborate with special education team members to best support each student’s individualized needs
  • Complete required documentation in a timely manner
  • Participate in meetings or training sessions as required by the assignment
