What You'll Need:
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID or EIPA strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably with middle or elementary school students
- Professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to confidentiality
- Ability to adapt communication methods to meet individual student needs
- Strong collaboration skills for working alongside educators, staff, and families
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time interpretation for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in classrooms and school activities
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Support access to the general education curriculum through accurate, age-appropriate interpretation
