This role is ideal for passionate Sign Language Interpreters eager to foster education and inclusion among deaf and hard of hearing students, working full-time (about 30 hours per week, 6 hours per day) at elementary or intermediate schools—your preference is valued.
Qualifications:
- Hold certification from the National Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf, or an EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment score of 4.0 or above.
- Candidates with EIPA scores under 4.0 are encouraged to apply (ASL Para designation).
- Skilled in sign to voice and voice to sign interpretation.
- Credible experience assisting students in core academic subjects and/or life skills is highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear communication between students, peers, teachers, and staff.
- Provide interpretation services in educational settings—supporting student success and classroom participation.
- Engage students during academic, recreational, and community activities.
- Assist with academics as well as vocational or daily living skills, depending on caseload needs.
