Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, or score of 4.0+ on the EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment
  • EIPA under 4.0 considered (ASL Para designation)
  • Strong proficiency in sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpreting
  • Previous experience working in educational settings (preferred)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and school staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate clear, accurate communication between students who are deaf/hard of hearing, hearing peers, and staff
  • Provide interpreting for academic subjects and support inclusion in classroom, playground, and community activities
  • Assist students in academic, vocational, and daily living skills
  • Monitor and encourage student engagement and safety in all environments
