Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Relevant interpreting certification (such as EIPA, RID, or state credentials)

  • Understanding of confidentiality and professional ethics
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility to interpret in varying classroom subjects and activities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate interpretation between students, educators, and staff
  • Support students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom and school activities
  • Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to adapt instruction as needed
  • Maintain professional standards and uphold student privacy requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insights as needed
