Qualifications:
- Hold a valid licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Achieved an ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher
- Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in schools or similar environments
- Comfortable with 1:1 interpretation assignments supporting a student throughout their school day
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1:1 sign language interpretation for a student during classroom activities, extracurriculars, and social interactions
- Foster accessible learning by accurately interpreting lesson plans, instructions, and conversations
- Work closely with educators, support staff, and families to ensure the student’s needs are consistently met
- Help create an environment where communication barriers are minimized and the student can thrive academically and socially
- Document services and maintain accurate notes as required by school procedures
