Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Valid state licensure/certification for Sign Language Interpreters in MA
- Previous experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to various learning environments and student needs
Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into sign language for students, staff, and families within the school setting
- Facilitate effective communication between d/Deaf, hard-of-hearing students, and hearing individuals
- Support participation in classroom activities, school events, and extracurricular programs
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity at all times
