Virtual Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Ohio Schools

We are seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide virtual interpreting services to students in Ohio schools. This is a great opportunity for an interpreter who is passionate about supporting students and helping ensure effective communication and access to education.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide remote sign language interpreting services for students in a school-based setting
- Facilitate communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, teachers, staff, and peers
- Interpret classroom instruction, meetings, activities, and other educational interactions
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accurate service documentation
- Follow school district requirements and applicable Ohio standards
Qualifications
- Appropriate Sign Language Interpreter credentials/certification for Ohio
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable providing services through a secure virtual platform
- Reliable internet connection and appropriate technology for remote interpreting
