A full-time Sign Language Interpreter is sought for an elementary school setting, providing telehealth and in-person interpretation services. Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate accurate and effective communication between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and educators in an elementary school environment.
- Deliver telehealth sign language interpreting services in compliance with educational standards.
- Support classroom instruction and student interactions by ensuring accessibility in both virtual and face-to-face formats.
- Collaborate with school staff to accommodate student needs and adapt interpreting approaches accordingly.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communication settings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with proven interpretation skills in educational settings.
- Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter within schools, preferably handling elementary-level caseloads.
- Familiarity with telehealth technology and remote interpreting protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse student needs.
