A full-time Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is available within an elementary school setting, providing essential communication support for students through telehealth and in-person services. Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear and accurate interpretation between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English in educational settings.
- Conduct telehealth interpretation sessions to support remote learning and communication.
- Collaborate with educational staff to promote an inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist with effective communication during meetings, classroom activities, and school-related events.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all relevant laws and ethical standards related to sign language interpreting in educational environments.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
- Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in school or educational settings.
- Knowledge of telehealth platforms and remote interpreting techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with children and school personnel.
- Ability to manage an elementary caseload and adapt to changing student needs.
