Remote Sign Language Interpreter in GA

A full-time virtual Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) position is available to support two 6th-grade students in a middle school setting. This contract opportunity requires proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience in providing telehealth interpreting services within an educational context.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver remote sign language interpretation services for middle school students during regular school hours (8:45 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday through Friday).
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and support staff.
- Collaborate virtually with educators to ensure accessibility and inclusion for students with hearing impairments.
- Maintain accurate records of interpreting sessions and student interactions.
- Adhere to professional standards and confidentiality guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Current Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification for Sign Language Interpreters.
- Demonstrated experience in ASL interpretation with middle school-aged children.
- Skilled in telehealth platforms and virtual communication tools.
- Strong understanding of educational environments and needs related to deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Location: This role is fully virtual, based in Marietta, GA, facilitating remote instruction and support.
