In this on-site position, you’ll work 37.5 hours each week from Monday through Friday, focusing your skills one-on-one to ensure the student’s full participation in both academic and social experiences at school.
Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Educational Interpreter/GaPSC Certification
- RID Certification or an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
- Previous school-based interpreting experience is preferred
- Ability to commit to full-time, on-site work throughout the academic year
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and impartial sign language interpreting services for all school-related activities, including classroom instruction, school events, and interactions with peers and staff
- Foster understanding and inclusion by adapting interpreting strategies to the student’s needs
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and support staff to promote the student’s academic growth and engagement
- Maintain professional standards of confidentiality, ethics, and cultural sensitivity at all times
