- Valid license to practice as a Sign Language Interpreter
- ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or above
- Demonstrated experience in pediatric or K-12 educational settings, ideally with 1:1 assignments
- Strong understanding of deaf culture, language nuances, and interpreting ethics
- Collaborative spirit and ability to work seamlessly with teachers, therapists, and student support teams
- Excellent organizational skills, reliability, and adaptability in a school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, real-time ASL interpretation for a specific student throughout the school day
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between the student, educators, and peers
- Support the student’s participation in classroom instruction, activities, and school events
- Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality in all interactions
- Document services and progress as required, communicating regularly with the educational team
- Assist in the development of strategies to enhance the student’s inclusion and learning
