Qualifications and Experience:
- Active state licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- EIPA score of 3.5 or above required
- Experience working in school settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of American Sign Language and deaf culture
- Professional, adaptable, and committed to confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language for students and staff
- Support classroom instruction and extracurricular activities
- Collaborate with teachers, other interpreters, and school personnel
- Maintain accurate and confidential records
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student planning, as needed
- Adapt interpreting style to meet the needs of each student
Travel candidates will enjoy weekly tax-free stipends covering housing and meals.
